KINGSTON MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER

 Twenty-one-year-old Gowayne Pathmont a labourer of Madden Street, Kingston 12 has been charged with Murder, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony and Wounding with Intent following the shooting death of a man on Dames Road, Kingston 4 on Monday, September 2.

Dead is 23-year-old Keanu Watson of Dames Road, Kingston 4.

Reports from the Kingston Central Police are that at about 7:45 p.m., Watson and another man were standing at the above-mentioned address, when they were pounced upon by Pathmont and another man, who brandished firearms and opened gunfire at them before escaping in a waiting motor car. The police were alerted and, on their arrival, both men were seen with gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital where Watson was pronounced dead, and the other man was treated and admitted.

Pathmont was arrested during a police operation and was subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
