KINGSTON MAN FACES MULTIPLE FIREARM CHARGES

Twenty-seven-year-old Anthony Ferron, of Tamarind Tree, 9 Miles Bull Bay, St Andrew, has been charged with Shooting with Intent, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony,

Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition and Being Armed with a Prohibited Weapon following an incident on Beach Road in the parish on Sunday, May 04.

Reports from the Bull Bay police are that at about 6:20 p.m., the complainants were walking along the roadway when they observed Ferron and another man approaching them armed with high-powered weapons. The complainants were asked by Ferron where they were heading, after which Ferron pointed his firearm at them and opened fire. The complainants ran in a bid to escape injury.

A report was made to the police, and an operation carried out during which the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody; he was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney on Friday May 09.

His court date is being finalised.
