Kingston Security Guard Charged

Murder, Wounding with Intent (2counts), Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition charges have been laid against a Kingston security guard in relation to the Monday, February 05 shooting death of a man in his community and the injury of two other persons along Bray Street in Kingston 16.

Charged with the death of 23-year-old labourer Shedrock Doig otherwise called ‘Sheddy’ is 30-year-old Lamar Leechman otherwise called ‘Tall Man’of  Sandy Close, Manley Meadows, Kingston 16.

Reports from the Elletson Road Police are that about 2:30 p.m., Leechman and an accomplice approached Doig and opened gunfire at him. Doig ran to escape injuries however when the shooting subsided Doig and two other men were seen nursing gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital where Doig was pronounced dead, and the others treated.

Leechman was taken into custody and charged on Thursday, August 15 following an interview and an eyewitness statement.

His court date is being arranged.
