Lifeguard Facing Multiple Charges

Detectives attached to the St. Mary Policing Division have arrested and charged a lifeguard with Burglary, Robbery with Aggravation, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Assault at Common Law and Receiving Stolen Property following an incident in the community of Country Club, St. Mary on Monday, September 30.

He is 29-year-old Renrick Brown of Bombay drive, Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

Reports from the lawmen are that sometime during the night a man and his family retired to bed after securely locking their dwelling house. The man was awoken by an object touching him. He opened his eyes and saw a man pointing a firearm at him. Brown then demanded cash/gun from the man. The man expressed he did not have either of the items he demanded.

Brown later ransacked the place and escaped in the area with a black Lenova laptop valued US$2,000, Samsung Galaxy Note Plus valued at JMD$70,000, Samsung GalaxyAS4 valued at JMD$40,000, Samsung Galaxy A13 valued at JMD$20,000, gold necklaces valued at JMD$50,000, three Jamaican passports, one Ghanian passport and a safe containing car keys, documents and debit cards.

A report was made to the police who immediately traced the stolen items to Mansfield Heights, where they were identified by the complainant. Brown was subsequently arrested and charged.

His court date is being finalised.
