Man charged with House breaking and Larceny and Receiving Stolen Property

Thirty-three-year-old Lenford Gayle, Gardener, of Cyril Gully, Montego Bay, St James was arrested and charged with House Breaking, Larceny and Receiving Stolen Property following a robbery of a store along Barnett Street, in the parish on Thursday, October 3.

Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that at 8:30 p.m., the complainant securely locked up his business place and left for home. On his return he discovered that culprit/s had gained access to the store where approximately JMD 2.8 million dollars’ worth of gadgets to include cellphones, tablets and computers were stolen.

The phones were tracked to the house of Gayle which was subsequently searched and a quantity of iPhones, sim cards and other electronics devices were recovered which were identified as items stolen from the complainant’s shop.

Gayle was taken into police custody on Friday, October 4 and was charged on Monday, October 7, 2024, subsequent to a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
