One man has been charged in relation to the stabbing murder of 15-year-old Denesha Cooper, a student of Naseberry Grove in St. Catherine. The incident occurred in her community on Saturday, May 08.
Charged with Murder is 22-year-old Shemar McCallaof Naseberry Grove, Kitson Town in St. Catherine.
Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that about 9:00 p.m., the suspect pounced uponCooper with a knife and stabbed her several times in the upper body. He attempted to escape and was intercepted by residents and the Police summoned. He was subsequently apprehended.
Cooper was transported to hospital where she was admitted in critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries on Monday May 10,about 12 noon.
On Saturday May 15, 2021, a question and answer session was conducted with the accused in the presence of his attorney after which he was charged.
His court date is being finalised.
