Manchester Men charged with Breaches of the Firearms Act

TWO MANCHESTER MEN CHARGED WITH BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT

Detectives assigned to the St. Elizabeth Division charged two Manchester men with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition following an incident on the Gutters main road, St. Elizabeth on Friday, November 01.

Charged are 35-year-old chef, Sean Reid, otherwise called ‘Sogie’, and 30-year-old Ramanno Smile, an electrician, both of Knock Patrick, Manchester.

Reports are that about 2:00 p.m., police were on operation in the area when Reid and Smile were seen in a Nissan AD Wagon parked in front of a bar. A search was conducted and a brown bag, seen in the console of the vehicle, was searched and two firearms – a Beretta 9mm pistol and a Sig Sauer pistol – along with a magazine and 21 rounds of ammunition were found. Both men were arrested and subsequently charged.

Their court dates are being finalised.
