One of Hanover’s Most Wanted gunmen has been captured by the police.
Brian Jackson, otherwise called ‘Not Nice’ has been wanted by the Hanover Police in connection with multiple gun-related crimes, including a triple murder last year, as well as shootings and robbery cases in the parish.
On Wednesday June 9, Jackson was the subject of a Mission Driven Operation in St Andrew by the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Specialized Operations along with members from the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF).
Following months of intelligence gathering, it was identified that Jackson was at premises in the Red Hills community. During the pre-dawn operation he was successfully arrested along with a female companion. The stealth operation took place without any rounds being discharged. Both Jackson and the woman are awaiting a Police Question and Answer session, ahead of charges being laid.
Jackson is known by the police to be a major player in the Hanover-based ‘Ants Nest Gang’. This gang is an affiliate of the ‘One Link Gang’, which is currently feuding with the ‘One Voice Gang’ in the parish. The May 2020 triple murder occurred during an arms deal that went bad. The three men killed were members of the One Voice Gang.
The latest operation is representative of the Constabulary’s ongoing counter-gang strategy that has
been employed across the country. Through the cooperation and collaboration of several groups and individuals, law enforcement has been able to disrupt and dismantle these criminal organisations and bring their members before the courts. The Constabulary is urging persons who believe they have information that can be of assistance to its investigations to call Crime Stop at 311, Police Emergency at 119 or any JCF member that you trust.
