Polygraph Unit

Established in December 2017, the Polygraph Unit currently operates under the Training Branch within the Administration and Support Services Portfolio of the Force. It is based at the National Police College of Jamaica, in Twickenham Park in St. Catherine.

The Polygraph Unit is integral to maintaining integrity within the JCF.  It facilitates background investigations for force applicants and supports the vetting process for promotions and appointments to sensitive positions. It also plays a role in investigating allegations of misconduct by members of the JCF. 

The unit is also one of the tools in the investigative machinery of the Force and conducts counter-intelligence screenings to aid the intelligence community.

The unit is made up of several departments including: 

• Quality Control and Systems Desk
• Administrative Desk
• Strategic Desk 
• Project Management & Property Management
• Training and Development

The polygraph unit’s ultimate goal is to become the regional law enforcement polygraph unit of choice with the highest standard of integrity and professionalism.
