SECOND MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING NEWSPAPER VENDOR’S MURDER

A second man has been implicated in the August 18, 2023, murder of 30-year-old newspaper vendor Craig White of Confidence Avenue, Mandeville, Manchester, along Caledonia Road in the parish.

Charged is 30-year-old Damyon Cohen, otherwise known as ‘Shanki/Moose’, a mason of Scott Pass district, also in Manchester. His cousin, thirty-year-old Jahmer Cohen, otherwise called ‘Zombie’, was previously charged.

Reports from Mandeville Police are that at about 5:00 p.m., an argument developed between White and the Cohen duo. It escalated into a physical altercation, and a machete was used to inflict stab and chop wounds to White’s upper body. The injured man was assisted to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Damyon was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation on Sunday, March 23, and charged with Murder after he was pointed out on an identification parade and after a question-and-answer session in the presence of two Justices of the Peace.

A court date is being finalised for Damyon, while Jahmer is presently before the Manchester Circuit Court.
