SPARTA CHARGED FOLLOWING STABBING INCIDENT
Detectives assigned to the St Mary Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) charged 24-year-old Ryan Hyatt, otherwise called ‘Sparta,’ a farmer of Cox Street, Port Maria, in the parish, with Wounding with Intent following an incident in Highgate, also in the parish, on Saturday, February 07.
Reports from the Port Maria CIB are that at about 1:30 a.m., a man was standing along the roadway when he was approached by Hyatt, who brandished a scissor, which he used to inflict several stab wounds to the man’s chest before fleeing the scene. The police were alerted, and the man was assisted to the hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. Hyatt was arrested and brought into custody later the same day during a police operation in the area.
Hyatt was charged after he was positively identified on an identification parade.
He is to appear before the St Mary Parish Court on Monday, February 23.
