ST. ANDREW MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING ROBBERY

Robbery with Aggravation and Possession of Prohibited Weapon charges have been laid against 35-year-old Valentine Moncrieffe of Beach Road, Bull Bay, St. Andrew, following an incident along Golding Road, Papine, Kingston, on Friday, June 13.

Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that at about 2:30 p.m., Moncrieffe approached a man at a business establishment in the area and begged him for money. The man then attempted to leave the premises but was pursued and blocked by the accused man. An accomplice joined Moncrieffe, and they proceeded to rob the man of his cellphone after Moncrieffe showed the victim a firearm.

After the robbery, a report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched.

On Saturday, June 14, Moncrieffe was apprehended during an operation. He was subsequently charged on Friday, July 04, after he was pointed out in an identification parade.

His court date is being finalised.
