ST ANDREW SOUTH POLICE CHARGED MAN WITH MULTIPLE OFFENSES UNDER THE FIREARMS ACT

The St. Andrew South Police have charged 31-year-old Camar Frater, otherwise called ‘Portal’, a construction worker of Denver Crescent, Kingston 20, with several offences under the Firearms Act following an incident that occurred on Fenbrook Avenue, Marverly, in the parish on Sunday, February 23.

Dead is 40-year-old Orlando David, otherwise called ‘Stucky’, a landscaper of Fenbooke Avenue, Kingston 20, and Tryall Heights, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

Along with the murder of David, Frater was charged with Wounding with Intent (Five Counts), Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Prohibited Ammunition, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony and Malicious Injury to Property.

Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that at about 1:05 a.m., David and five other men were among a group of persons gathered along the roadway when they were pounced upon by Frater and another gunman, travelling on foot, who opened fire at the group, hitting David and the five men. The police were alerted, and all six persons were taken to hospital, where David was pronounced dead and the other men were admitted for treatment.

Following an investigation into the matter, Frater was arrested and later charged with the offences. His accomplice is currently being sought by the police.
