ST. ANN LABOURER CHARGED WITH MURDER ETAL

Thirty-year-old labourer Romario Brown, otherwise known as ‘Russian’ of Lillyfield district, Bamboo, St Ann, has been slapped with several charges following the shooting death of a man in their community on Saturday, August 16.

He has been charged with Murder,Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition and Using a firearm to commit a Felony.

Dead is 40-year-old chef Randel Morgan.

Reports from the St Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 9:00 a.m., Morgan was walking along the roadway when he was pounced upon by Brown and an accomplice. Shortly afterwards loud explosions were heard, and the now deceased ran to escape injury.

After the shooting subsided, Morgan was seen nursing gunshot wounds. The police were alerted, and on their arrival, he was taken to hospital, where he died whilst undergoing treatment.

An investigation was launched into the matter, and Brown was taken into custody whilst reporting on a condition of bail in a separate incident. He was charged on Monday, August 25, after a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being arranged.
