ST CATHERINE DUO FACING GANJA CHARGES
Detectives assigned to the St. Catherine South Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) have charged a man and a woman with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act following an incident in their community on Wednesday, February 19.
Charged are 44-year-old Hummroy Brown and 33-year-old Heather Thompson, both of Portmore, St. Catherine.
Reports from Portmore Police are that at about 8:45 p.m., lawmen were on mobile patrol when they saw a group of people standing at the entrance of a premise. The behaviour of some of the persons aroused the suspicion of the police team, who subsequently searched the premises and found 42 plastic cups containing ganja.
Brown and Thompson were taken into custody in relation to the seizure and subsequently charged with Possession of Ganja, Dealing in Ganja and Use of Premises to Store Ganja after a question and answer session.
Their court date is being finalised.
