Thirty-year-old promotion worker Devon Butler, otherwise called ‘Ratty’ of Kelly Road, Portmore, St. Catherine, has been implicated in the Wednesday, January 22 shooting incident of a man at the intersection of Redwood Avenue and Westchester Drive in the parish.
He was charged with Wounding with Intent, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony, Conspiracy and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition.
Reports from the Portmore Police are that at about 9:00 p.m., a man went to a business establishment at the aforementioned location where he saw Butler and another man. Butler brandished a firearm and opened gunfire at the man, hitting him multiple times before escaping in the area. The injured man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Following a report and subsequent investigation, Butler was taken into custody, where he was positively identified on an identification parade.
His court date is being finalized.
