Forty-nine-year-old Leon Taylor otherwise called ‘Ganja Baby’ of New Town district, Black River, St. Elizabeth has been arrested and charged following an incident on Monday, February 26.
Reports from the Black River Police are that about 8:00 p.m., officers were on patrol iin the area when they saw Taylor standing beside a white motor vehicle, holding what appeared to be a firearm in his right hand. Upon noticing the police, Taylor ran and threw the firearm in rubbish bin, he was accosted.
A search of the bin was carried out in his presence, where a 9mm pistol with an empty magazine was found. He was was arrested and taken into custody where he was charged with the offence of Possession of Prohibited Weapon.
His court date is being finalized.
