ST JAMES MAN SLAPPED WITH GUN-RELATED CHARGES
Wounding with Intent, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon charges have been laid against 22-year-old Nigel Williams, otherwise called ‘Romaine’ and ‘Pampas’ of Mocho district, St James, following an incident in Garlands district in the parish on Wednesday, January 29.
Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that at about 8:30 p.m., a man was in his yard when he was pounced upon by Williams. He brandished a firearm and opened gunfire at the man, hitting him before escaping. The man was assisted to hospital where he was treated.
The shooting was reported to the police, following which an investigation was launched.
On Thursday, April 17, Williams turned himself in to the police, accompanied by his attorney. He was subsequently charged for the offences.
His court date is being finalised.
