ST JAMES TEACHER CHARGED WITH OBTAINING MONEY BY FALSE PRETENCE

Obtaining Money by False Pretence charges have been laid against 32-year-old Kimberly Bailey-Allen, a teacher of Cambridge, Montego Bay, St. James, following an incident in St. Ann’s Bay between April and July 3.

Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that Bailey-Allen agreed to be paid $15,000 JMD per week to tutor a teen girl. She later instructed the teenager to steal $4,000,000 JMD from her parents business establishment to secure a spot to sit three CSEC CXC examinations. The teen stole the money and handed it over to Bailey-Allen as instructed between April and July 3.

A report was made to the police after the girl’s parents realised the money was missing and she told them what had happened.

An investigation was launched into the matter, and Bailey-Allen was taken into custody on Saturday, April 05. She was officially charged on Thursday, July 10.

She is scheduled to appear in the St. Ann’s Bay Parish Court on Friday, September 19.
