
ST. MARY FARMER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
Detectives from the St. Mary Policing Division have charged 23-year-old Shamoy Francis, a farmer of Mahoe Road, in the parish, with Assault Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm following an incident in his community on Thursday, October 23.
Reports from the Highgate Police are that at about 12:00 a.m., Francis was home when an argument developed between him and a relative. The argument became physical, and it is alleged that Francis used a machete to inflict chop wounds to the relative’s upper body.
An alarm was raised by residents, and the police were summoned. The injured man was assisted to the hospital, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
Francis was arrested, and subsequently charged on Saturday, October 25.
His court date is being finalised.
