St. Thomas Electrician Charged

Forty-six-year-old Denton Bell otherwise called ‘Denton’, an electrician of Bamboo River district, Morant Bay in St. Thomas has been charged with Housebreaking and larceny, Malicious Destruction of Property, Simple Larceny and Receiving Stolen Property following an incident on Tuesday, October 1.

Reports from the Morant Bay Police are that about 7:30 p.m., Denton allegedly opened a kitchen window, removed the grill, entered a house and stole several personal items amounting to JMD 500,000.

A police team acting on information later visited the home of Denton where a search was conducted.  During the search, the stolen items were recovered. Denton was arrested and subsequently charged after a question-and-answer interview was conducted in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalized.
