The High Command of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) strongly condemns the senseless killing of Corporal Christopher Smith, who was fatally injured during a brazen robbery at the Texaco Gas Station along Beechwood Avenue yesterday. Corporal Smith, who was assigned to the Trench Town Police Station in the Kingston Western Division, succumbed to his injuries this morning at the Kingston Public Hospital while undergoing surgery.

The JCF has launched a full investigation into this heinous act, and we wish to assure the public that no effort will be spared in ensuring that those responsible are apprehended and brought before the courts. We remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting the people of Jamaica and standing firm against those who seek to disrupt law and order.

We are appealing to anyone who may have information that can assist in this investigation to come forward. Information, no matter how small, could be critical in solving this case. We urge citizens to call Crime Stop at 311, Police Emergency at 119, the National Intelligence Bureau Tip Line at 811, or visit the nearest police station.

Corporal Smith’s service and dedication to the JCF and the people of Jamaica will not be forgotten. As we mourn this loss, we call on every Jamaican to reject and condemn the violence that continues to plague our nation.

The High Command extends its deepest condolences to Corporal Smith’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
