TEACHER CHARGED WITH WOUNDING WITH INTENT

Twenty-nine-year-old teacher Okeito Watson of Eaton district, Hanover, is facing Wounding with Intent charge following a machete attack on a man in Champers Pen, Lucea, Hanover, on Friday, January 23.

Reports from the Lucea Police are that at about 4:00 p.m., Watson armed himself with a machete, entered a man’s home, and attacked him. It was alleged that Watson chopped the man on his forehead before pulling the man from the house, where he continued his assault on him. It was further reported that the man managed to get ahold of the machete; however, Watson managed to arm himself with a piece of steel that he used to hit the man all over his body, causing multiple injuries before fleeing the scene. The man was assisted to the hospital, where he was treated for multiple injuries.

A report was later made to the police where Watson was implicated and subsequently charged with the mentioned offence.

His court date is being finalised.
