TOP TEIR MEMBER OF THE 33 LANE GANG AMONG PERSONS CHARGED
The St. Andrew South Police Division continues its relentless efforts to rid our communities of criminal elements as we work to ensure safety, security, and justice for all. In recent operations, detectives have charged multiple individuals for serious offences, including murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of prohibited weapons and abstracting electricity.
Detectives have formally charged Andrew Watson, otherwise called ‘Luther’, a 38-year-old farmer of Waltham Park Road in Kingston 13, in connection with the brutal murder of 21-year-old Johnathan Martin, otherwise called ‘JJ’, a labourer of Waltham Park Road, Kingston 13. He is a top tier member of the 33 Lane gang.
Investigations revealed that on Friday, January 10, 2025, at about 8:00 p.m., Watson, in the company of several men confronted Martin at his residence and demanded that he leave the area. The group then hit him repeatedly with boards before chasing him along Brotherton Avenue, where he was shot and killed. The perpetrators then escaped on motorcycles.
The police were summoned, and, on their arrival, Martin’s body was found on the roadway with gunshot wounds to the head and leg. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Watson was later arrested, interviewed in the presence of his lawyer and formally charged on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
