TOUR OPERATOR CHARGED FOLLOWING BREACHES OF THE FIREARMS ACT
Fifty-four-year-old tour operator Delroy Murray of Mansfield Heights, Ocho Rios, St Ann has been charged with Shooting with Intent, Illegal Possession of Firearm and Illegal Possession of Ammunition following an incident in his community on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
Reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that at about 7:30 a.m., during a confrontation, a woman, armed with a machete, approached Murray. Murray brandished his licensed firearm and discharged two rounds in the woman’s direction. She managed to escape injury then reported the incident to the police.
Following an investigation, a file was submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and Murray was charged on Wednesday, February 11 following the DPP’s ruling.
His court date is being finalised.
