The St. Catherine South Police have commenced a probe into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of 17-year-old Connoy Brown, otherwise called ‘Brim’, of Foster Lane, Naggo Head in St. Catherine. The incident happened in Naggo Head, in the parish on Monday, May 3.
Information received are that about 7:15 p.m., Connoy was walking along the roadway when he was pounced upon by unknown assailants who opened gunfire hitting him several times before escaping.
The Police were alerted to the scene and whilst processing the scene, a bag was found in the vicinity containing one Smith and Wesson Springfield 9mm pistol with an affixed magazine hosting one 9mm round of ammunition.
Shortly after, several explosions were heard in the area. Quick response from the team resulted in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Nicholas Standford, also of Foster Lane in the parish about 8:10 p.m., and the seizure of a second firearm-one Beretta 9mm pistol with a magazine affixed.
Both Connoy and Standford were transported to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
