Two Men Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition

Twenty-four-year-old Devonte Jackson a construction worker of Cherry Tree Lane, Four Path, Clarendon and twenty-two-year-old Rick Edwards a farmer of Lawson Boulevard, Four Path Clarendon have both been charged with being in Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition following an incident in the vicinity on Monday, August 12.

Reports from the May Pen police are that about 10:30 a.m., a team of police were conducting a joint military operation in the area and observed two motorcycles entering the community. They were stopped and one of the persons ran. A chased ensued and the lawmen caught Jackson.

A black and grey Louis Vuitton cross bag was retrieved from Jackson, and it was searched by police. A black Taurus 9mm pistol and a magazine with twelve 9mm rounds was found in the bag. He then proceeded to tell the police that he was given the bag by Edwards who denied such claims. Both were subsequently arrested and charged.

A court date is being arranged for both men.
