TWO MEN FACING MULTIPLE FIREARM CHARGES
Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorised Possession of Ammunition, Use of a Firearm to commit a Felony and Damaging a building with Intent to Commit Murder are charges that have been laid against two Trelawny men following a shooting incident in McHill district, Clarks Town in the parish, on Tuesday, February 11.
Charged are 35-year-old farmer Denton Edwards, otherwise called ‘Big Dreams’ and ‘Bigga’ of the aforementioned community and 21-year-old Ian Ferguson, otherwise called ‘Super Meech’ and ‘Shot Gun’ of Panasus, also in the parish.
Reports from the Falmouth Police are that about 1:30 a.m., a man was at his house when he heard strange noise at his front door and bedroom window. He made checks and saw Edwards and Ferguson, both armed with handguns walking to the side of the house, after which he heard explosions. He ran to another section of his house to escape injury and contacted the police.
An investigation was launched into the matter, and both men were taken into custody, where they were charged.
A court date is being finalised.
