Two Men Slapped with Charges

Two men have been slapped with charges under the Firearms Act after they engaged lawmen in shoot-out at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and First Street, New Port West, Kingston 13 on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Charged with Two counts of Shooting with Intent, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Using a Firearm to commit a Felony and Possession of Unauthorised Ammunition are 19-year-olds Jaheim Webb, otherwise called ‘Home’, and Tyrese Ryman both of Kingston 13 addresses.

Information received from the Hunts Bay Police are that about 10:30 p.m., Webb and Ryman had committed a robbery along Lyndhurst Road in Kingston. The vehicle in which they were travelling in was spotted and the driver of the motor vehicle was signaled to stop, however, he disobeyed. They were pursued and the men opened fire at the lawmen. After the shooting subsided, it was discovered that Webb and Ryman escaped, leaving the vehicle behind.

On Sunday, October 6, an operation was carried out and both men apprehended. They were charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorney on Monday, October 07.

Their court date is being finalized.
