WESTMORELAND MAN CHARGED AFTER WOUNDING A MECHANIC
Detectives assigned to the Westmoreland Policing Division have charged 36-year-old Oshane Blackwood of Bethel Town, Westmoreland, with Wounding with Intent following an incident in his community on Sunday, December 28.
According to reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police, Blackwood and a group of individuals were at a water tank filling up water at around 8:30 a.m. when he and another man got into a fight over the water’s misappropriation. Blackwood reportedly armed himself with a machete that he used to inflict a chop wound to the man’s hand. Blackwood then made his escape on foot in the area. The man was assisted to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
A report regarding the incident was made to the police, and Blackwood was arrested during a targeted operation and was thereafter charged.
His court date is being arranged.
