
WESTMORELAND MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER
Sixty-three-year-old Glenroy Campbell, otherwise called ‘Mass Ron’, a farmer of Treve Road, Mango Hall district, in Westmoreland, has been charged with Murder following an incident in Old Road, Mooreland Hill, in the parish, between Thursday, October 9, and Friday, October 10.
Dead is 60-year-old Wayne Robinson, otherwise called ‘Rub Rub’, of Old Road, Mooreland Hill, also in the parish.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that Robinson was last seen alive at about 10:30 p.m., on Thursday, October 9. The following morning, residents stumbled upon Robinson’s body and summoned the police. On their arrival Robinson was found at the back of his house with chop wounds to his neck and head. The scene was processed, and the body removed to the morgue pending a postmortem.
Following further investigation, Campbell was named as the main suspect in the Robinson’s murder. A warrant was obtained for his arrest, and on Thursday, November 27, he was apprehended during a police operation at his house. He was subsequently charged based on a statement recorded implicating him.
His court date is being finalised.
