WESTMORELAND MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON

Twenty-nine-year-old scrap metal worker Daniel Sterling, otherwise called ‘Rice Bag’ of Truro District, Frome, Westmoreland, has been charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon in relation to a firearm seizure in his community on Saturday, July 26.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that at about 4:45 p.m., police on an operation in the community conducted a search of Sterling’s premises. The search, which was conducted in his presence, led to the discovery of a Smith and Wesson Springfield firearm with an affixed magazine. The firearm was seized, and Sterling was taken into custody, where he was charged.

His court date is being finalised.
