Charges have been laid against seven persons, including four teenagers, in connection with the December 30 brutal beating of a teenage girl along Holland Street in Denbigh, Clarendon.
Charged with Unlawful Wounding and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm are:
- 52-year-old Pauline Hughes-Smith of Woodside district,
- 36-year-old Shayanne Williams and 22-year-old Amanda Anderson, both of Havannah district all in the parish.
Their co-accused are three females aged 15, 16, and 17, as well as a 17-year-old male.
Reports from the May Pen police are that about 2:00 p.m., a 14-year-old female was at the aforementioned location when she was ambushed and beaten mercilessly by the group, rendering her unconscious. She was assisted to the hospital, where she was admitted in serious but stable condition.
Following an investigation, the six females were taken into custody on Tuesday, January 2, while the lone male was arrested a day later.
The adult parties are slated to answer the charges in the May Pen Parish Court on Thursday, January 11.
