The Kingston Eastern police have arrested and charged two men with Possession and Dealing with Ganja after the seizure of a quantity of ganja at the intersection of Bow Lane and Water Road in the vicinity of the General Penitentiary on Friday, November 12.
Charged are 42-year-old Sherman Tucker, barber of Dam Head Crescent, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and 54-year-old Kenneth Bundy of Melbrook Heights, Harbour View Kingston 17.
Reports from the Elletson Road police are that about 10:50 p.m., a team was on patrol in the area when they saw a white Probox motor vehicle parked along the roadway and the occupants acting in a manner that aroused their suspicions. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and 26 parcels containing vegetable matter resembling ganja were found. Upon further investigation it was revealed the men were attempting to smuggle the items into the lock ups.
The men were taken into custody and subsequently charged. The Jamaica Constabulary Force continues to partner and collaborate with the Department of Corrections on such matters.
