The St. Elizabeth Police seized one .44 magnum revolver with one .44 cartridge during an operation in Brinkley district, Junction in the parish on Friday, April 12.
Reports are that about 4:30 a.m., the police carried out an operation at a premises in the area, during which a search was conducted. The firearm was removed from a toilet tank; a man and a teenage girl, occupying the premises, were taken into custody pending further investigation.
The police were also able to seize materials that are used in lottery scamming activities.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Coleridge Minto is reminding the citizens that the police are working assiduously to keep the peace. “We continue to remind the citizens of this parish that we will be relentless in our efforts to rid the streets of illegal firearms and to arrest persons who are involved in criminal activity in this area” he said.
