BUSINESSMAN CHARGED WITH FRAUDULENT CONVERSION

Thirty-five-year-old businessman Nicholas Morgan of Abberville Avenue, Kingston 20, has been charged with Fraudulent Conversion following an incident that occurred between January 13 and July 28.

Reports from the Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are that Morgan received a bank transfer of $1,300,000 JMD from a woman as payment for a 2019 Honda Fit motor vehicle. A report was made to the police and an investigation was launched immediately into the matter. It was later borne out that Morgan had converted the funds for his personal use.

Morgan, who was in custody in relation to a similar matter, was charged after a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney.

A court date is being finalised for him.
