November 10, 2020 – Detectives assigned to the St. Catherine North Criminal Investigation Branch have charged four men in connection with an armed robbery on Featherbed Lane, Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Wednesday, November 4.

 Charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition and Robbery with Aggravation are:

1.       Twenty-eight-year-old Dalton Gilbert, a production worker of Spring Village, Old Harbour, St. Catherine.

2.        Sanjay Shaw, otherwise called ‘Rufus’, a 29-year-old electrician of Eltham Acres, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

3.       Thirty-six-year-old Ari Vassell otherwise called ‘Torn’, a farmer of Cumberland district, Clarendon.

4.    Thirty-year-old, Omar Sutherland otherwise called ‘Screw Ben’, a mason of Musgothy Lane, Spanish Town in St. Catherine.

Reports from Spanish Town Police are that about 12:30 a.m., the accused men were travelling in a grey Nissan Tiida motor car. The hoodlums reportedly used the Nissan Tiida to block the pathway of the complainant—who was driving his private motorcar along Featherbed Lane in the parish. Two of the accused men, one armed with a handgun, then reportedly exited and robbed the complainant of his Nissan Note motor car.

Within three hours of the report being made, the accused men were intercepted by the police in Old Harbour, St. Catherine. The Nissan Tiida was seized and the Nissan Note recovered. The men were arrested and charged following an interview. Their court date is being finalised.
