ONE FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED IN NEWMARKET, WESTMORELAND
August 10, 2020 – A team of officers assigned to the Westmoreland Police Division seized one firearm and one round of ammunition during an operation in New Market, Westmoreland on Sunday, August 09.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that about 10:30 a.m., lawmen were in the area when a premises was searched and one Sarsilmaz Bernardelli 9mm pistol with one 9mm round was found under a board in one of the bedrooms.
One man was taken into custody in relation to this seizure. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
The investigation continues.
