MANCHESTER RESIDENT FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES

Thirty-four-year-old Conroy Dias, otherwise called ‘Lucky City’, a labourer of Battersea district, Porus, Manchester, has been charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Malicious Destruction of Property following an incident in his community on Sunday, August 17.

Reports from the Mandeville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are that on the date mentioned above at about 3:00 p.m., Dias and his spouse had an argument, during which he used a television to hit her on her left foot, causing swelling and bruises. Dias then used a metal rake to damage twelve glass window panes valued at $6,000 JMD. He later used the same metal rake to damage a dresser valued at $35,000 JMD and a two-burner gas stove valued at $4,000 JMD.

The police were later informed of the incident by the complainant, and Dias was accosted and charged in relation to the matter.

A court date for him is being finalised.
