‘OREO’ CHARGED WITH HOUSE BREAKING WITH LARCENY
Twenty-five-year-old Jamario Jarrett, otherwise called ‘Oreo’, a labourer of Hyman Town, Brighton district, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, has been charged with House Breaking and Larceny following an incident along Main Street, Santa Cruz, in the parish on Saturday, May 17.
Reports from the Black River Police are that at about 2:00 am, the complainant received information that her business establishment, which she had securely locked and left for home, was being broken into. The police were alerted, and on arrival, two men were seen running from the premises with items in hand.
It was later discovered that entry was gained by the culprits through a window to the back of the building.
An investigation was launched, and Jarrett was listed as a person of interest; he later turned himself in to the police on Thursday, May 22, where he was subsequently charged based on evidence found on the scene and a caution statement given admitting to the crime.
His court date is being arranged.
