The Portmore Police have charged a man with several offences in connection with an incident on Passagefort Drive, Portmore in St. Catherine on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Charged is 25-year-old Antion Johnson, otherwise called ‘Rugsy’, of Kings Avenue, Naggo Head in Portmore. He is charged with the following:

  • Wounding with Intent
  • Malicious Destruction of Property (3 counts)
  • Conspiracy
  • Using a Firearm to commit a scheduled offence
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of an Ammunition

Johnson’s charges stem from allegations that about 9:30 a.m., he approached a man outside his yard and fired several shots, hitting the complainant in his hand. Johnson then reportedly fled. The police were called and while processing the scene, they discovered that bullets had also damaged three motor vehicles.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives executed an arrest warrant on Johnson on Thursday, February 22. He was subsequently interviewed in the presence of his attorney on Friday, February 23, and later charged. His court date is being finalized.
