ST. CATHERINE HUSBAND AND WIFE CHARGED WITH LARCENY AS A SERVANT ET AL
A St. Catherine couple has been charged with Larceny as a Servant , Conspiracy and Receiving Stolen Property following an alleged theft at a business establishment in Gutters, Old Harbour, St. Catherine, between Monday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 23.
Charged are 32-year-old branch manager Sashell Smith-Ebanks and 42-year-old businessman David Ebanks of Gardina Boulevard, Sydenham Villa, St. Catherine.
Reports from the Old Harbour Police are that an audit at the establishment revealed that $2,025,000 JMD was missing from lodgements between the aforementioned dates. The branch manager was questioned, and she admitted to taking the money and giving it to her husband to assist with family emergencies.
A report was made to the police, and the duo was taken into custody, where they were charged on Saturday, July 26, following a question and answer session in the presence of their attorney.
The couple is scheduled to appear in the Old Harbour Parish Court on Friday, September 26.
