
TAXI OPERATOR CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AT COMMON LAW
Twenty-seven-year-old Shomar Crosdale, a taxi operator of Boone Hall District, Golden Spring, St. Andrew, has been charged with Assault at Common Law following an incident in Lipscombe Drive, Kingston 9, on Thursday, June 25.
Reports from the Constant Spring Police indicated that at about 5:20 p.m., Crosdale had an altercation with a man, during which he armed himself with two machetes. A licensed firearm holder saw what was happening and intervened by calling out to Crosdale. Crosdale reportedly turned toward the firearm holder and advanced while brandishing the machetes in a threatening manner. In fear of his life, the man drew his firearm and fired one shot, hitting Crosdale, who fled in his vehicle.
Crosdale attended the hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. He was later arrested and charged based on statements collected.
He is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, July 29.
