Taxi Operator Facing Charges Following Abduction and Assault of a Minor

TAXI OPERATOR FACING CHARGES FOLLOWING ABDUCTION AND ASSAULT OF A MINOR

Thirty-three-year-old Dave Thompson, a taxi operator of Sharpe Avenue, May Pen, Clarendon, has been charged with Abduction of a Child Under Sixteen, Assault at Common Law, and Rape following an incident involving a 12-year-old girl on Thursday, September 24.

Reports from the police are that at about 3: 00 p.m., the child reportedly boarded Thompson’s taxi en route to May Pen. Upon reaching May Pen, Thompson allegedly held a knife at the girl’s neck. He then drove to his house where he assaulted her.

Following the incident, a report was made to the police, and the child was taken to the hospital, where she was medically examined.

On Friday, October 2, Thompson was pointed out on an identification parade by the complainant, following which he was charged.

His court date is being finalised.
