The Westmoreland Police arrested and charged one man with Wounding with Intent, Illegal Possession of Firearm and Illegal Possession of Ammunition following an incident in Ramsay Corner district, Bethel Town in the parish on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Charged is 29-year-old Oshane McDonald otherwise called ‘Beres’, a farmer of Coffee Ground district, Bethel Town, Westmoreland.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that about 8:00 a.m., McDonald confronted a man who he believed assaulted his son. It is alleged that McDonald pulled a firearm and shot the man to the head before escaping in the area. The injured man was assisted to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
On Thursday, September 28, McDonald was arrested during an operation in the area. On Thursday, October 05 he was charged following an identification parade. A court date for him is being finalised.
