March 08, 2021 – Detectives in Westmoreland charged a man with Wounding with Intent and Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition following an incident in Farm Pen district, Westmoreland on Wednesday, March 03.
The man has been identified as 38-year-old Nardo Grant, labourer of Farm Pen Road, Savanna-la-Mar in Westmoreland.
Reports from the Savanna-la- Mar Police are that about 7:45 p.m, the complainant was exiting his motor vehicle when he was confronted by Grant and another man known to him as ‘Jesus’, who was armed with a firearm. A confrontation ensued between them resulting in the complainant receiving gunshot wounds. Grant and the other man fled the scene. The Police were summoned and the complainant was taken to hospital, where he was treated and released.
An operation was carried out by lawmen and Grant was apprehended at his home later that same day. He was charged on Sunday, March 7 following an interview.
His court date is being finalised.
