
BIKE TAXI OPERATOR CHARGED FOLLOWING BRAZEN GUN ATTACK
Twenty-three-year-old Tafari Campbell, otherwise called ‘Taf,’ a bike taxi operator of Grange Hill, Westmoreland, has been charged with Assault at Common Law and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon with Intent to Injure following an incident in his community on Saturday, April 25.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that at about 1:10 p.m., Campbell allegedly attacked a man with whom he had an ongoing dispute. During the confrontation, Campbell reportedly withdrew a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the man. Fearing for his life, the man ran into a nearby yard.
A report was made to the police, and Campbell was later arrested after being pointed out. He was subsequently charged following the recording of a statement that implicated him.
His court date is being finalised.
