CARPENTER CHARGED FOLLOWING MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT
Twenty-five-year-old Delano Reid, a carpenter of White Hall Avenue, Kingston 8, has been charged with Larceny of Motor Vehicle and Assault at Common Law following an incident at a car park in Montego Bay, St. James, on Sunday, August 23.
Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that, at about 9:30 a.m., a man was alerted by his co-worker that his car had been seen leaving the parking lot. The man reportedly pursued the vehicle and managed to intercept it. He then confronted Reid, who was allegedly in possession of the vehicle, to apprehend him.
Reid allegedly pulled a knife from his waistband and made several attempts to harm the man. In an effort to protect himself, the man reportedly pulled a knife and inflicted several wounds to Reid’s body.
Reid was subdued and subsequently assisted to the hospital, where he was treated and later released into police custody. He was subsequently charged.
His court date is being finalised.
