Wanted Woman Charged in Motor Vehicle Fraud Scam

WANTED WOMAN CHARGED IN MOTOR VEHICLE FRAUD SCAM

Detectives assigned to the Fraud Squad and Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FSFCID) of the Specialized Investigation Branch have arrested and charged a woman in connection with a fraudulent online motor vehicle sale.

She is 19-year-old Fellisa Rose and she has been charged with: Conspiracy to Defraud, Unlawfully making available device or data for the commission of an offence, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Reports are that a woman responded to an advertisement on a social media platform, selling a Toyota Voxy motor car for over JMD 500,000. She was given an account number belonging to Fellisa Rose, where she deposited a sum of cash for the motor vehicle in March 2026. The vehicle was to be handed over to the buyer the following month; however, that was not done.

A report was made to the police and the FSFCID launched an investigation.

Rose was placed on the JCF’s Wanted Wednesdays, and she subsequently surrendered to the police.

She is to appear in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, October 1.
