Two women were arrested and charged by the JCF’s Anti-Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Vice Squad for child trafficking in the past week.

On Monday, October 10, Nicole Brisset, 33, of Lucea, Hanover was arrested in an intelligence-led operation and later charged with the trafficking of her 13-year-old daughter.

On Thursday, October 13, Nicola Johnson, 39, of Hanover and St Thomas addresses was arrested and charged for child trafficking and the sexual exploitation of her two daughters, ages 11 and 15.

Both women remain in custody. Brisset will appear before the Lucea Parish Court on Wednesday, October 19, while Johnson will answer to her charges in the St. Thomas Parish Court on Friday, October 21.

The Police are encouraging persons who witness children in need of care or protection to contact the National Children’s Registry at 211, the police 119 number, or the nearest police station.
